Nestled half way up the slope of the hill on which Volterra is perched, this country house of the late XVIIIth century has been fully restored and sectioned into nine self-contained apartments. Once settled in at Villa Opera, you may pursue three or more vacation strategies.

One may choose to stay put among the olive trees, cypresses and vineyards, resting on the pool deck overlooking the wide Val di Cecina and the distant sunset. One may explore Volterra only three kilometers away - its Museo Etrusco, the Duomo, the Pinacoteca, and Palazzo Viti. After that, the many alabaster artifacts for which Volterra is renowned worldwide may catch the interest. Of course, the typical products of the Toscana cuisine will be beckoning brashly from the many gourmet shops. Enterprising people, finally, may choose to lose themselves in the surrounding countryside. On foot or with mountain bikes, they will learn the many secrets of the cultural landscape interlaced with patches of wilderness.

Since you will be staying for a while, you can switch among lifestyles depending on your immediate interests or whims. And should this not be enough, the territory surrounding Volterra is full of hidden treasures, of cultural events, and folkloristicactivities. We will help you discover them.

The nine apartments have all been tastefully furnished with period pieces. We have curated all details and equipped the apartments with every comfort.

The swimming pool among the olive trees overlooks a view of rare beauty. Outside tables are placed here and there on an ample lawn surrounding the house. There is a grill/barbecue area. Our guests may use them for open air meals, making it a perfect day.

For those who want it, agritourism is a socialmicrocosm. Gests share common areas. You may want to meet other people, or prefer to be on your own. Guests must respect the private sphere of others at all times.The family running Villa Opera is present, but discreetly. It leaves the initiative to the guests.
